RCA (Reading Cognition and Analysis) is EKSAQ's K-10 literacy framework that measures how learners read, understand and reason - combining a Reading Comprehension Assessment with dedicated Grammar and Vocabulary modules on a single Lexile scale.
Traditional tests record what a child got wrong; RCA diagnoses why, mapping comprehension across Informative, Analytical and Critical-Thinking domains rather than recall alone.
A standardised measure that places a reader's ability and a text's complexity on the same scale, so passages can be matched to measured ability instead of grade alone.
